Ken Perez: Howdy! I was born and raised in tiny, beautiful Connecticut. My undergraduate education was completed in 2015 at the University of Connecticut, Storrs with degrees in Psychology and Economics. I am currently in my second year enrolled in Texas A&M’s Social Psychology PhD program. My research interests include affective forecasting, optimistic bias, functionalist theories of emotion, judgment and decision-making. I’m looking forward to another year of productive, fun, and rewarding experiences with our lab!
Thomas Tibbett: I graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2011 with a degree in Psychology and English. After taking a year off to do statistical consulting, I started work on my Social Psychology PhD at A&M. I am broadly interested in social inclusion, judgment and decision-making, and emotion from a functional standpoint.
Wan Yidou: Howdy! I just recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Psychology, so this is my very first year being enrolled in Social Psychology PhD program at Texas A&M. My current research interests are emotions, decision-making, and cultures. I am super excited to be here, and I am looking forward to work with you all!
Abigail Ramos: Howdy, my name is Abigail Ramos and I am a freshman psychology major with an interest in sociology. My goal is to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology with a concentration in child development.
Ashley Bradley: Howdy, my name is Ashley R. Bradley. I am a freshman psychology major with an interest in sociology as well. My focus is on how the human mind works and in turn, how that affects human behavior and society as a whole. With this knowledge, I’d like to use it to see affective change in social services for human needs.
Amanda Brown: Howdy! I am a senior psychology major who is also obtaining an equine certificate from the animal science department. My goal is to be certified as a therapist in equine assisted therapy focusing on mental health clients. I have been a part of Dr. Lench’s lab for one year and am currently one of the lab managers. After I graduate I hope to take a year off before pursuing graduate school for psychology. I love to laugh and the quickest way to my heart is through puppies or baked goods (brownies!).
Cameron McCann: My name is Cameron McCann and I am trying to obtain a Psychology degree. I’m interested in the aspect of decision making as well as human behavior in general.
Cienna Hancock: I am a sophomore psychology major. My interests include various aspects of cognitive development and the effects of autism on children. I plan to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology upon graduating.
Erin Cloud: I am a junior psychology major. I transferred to Texas A&M University after earning an A.S. in psychology at Navarro College. My interests focus on severe/chronic mental illness and counseling. I plan to graduate from A&M in 2018 and pursue a PhD in clinical psychology.
Kitson Fox: I am a senior psychology major. I joined the lab for my interest in decision making. I will graduate in the Spring of 2017 and hope to apply my BA in Psychology in the field of marketing.
Mariana Vazquez: Howdy! I am a junior psychology major and sociology minor. I will be rejoining Dr. Lench’s lab after studying abroad in Seville, Spain during the fall semester. My goal is to earn a PhD in school psychology.
Zari Haggenmiller: I graduated from Kalamazoo College (Kalamazoo, Michigan) with a B.A. in Human Development and Social Relations. I spent a year in Detroit working as a middle school tutor and mentor, and then almost two years in East Lansing as a preschool teacher. I recently relocated to College Station and I am the lab manager along with Amanda. I am very excited to be part of the research in the exciting field of Emotion Science!
