Graduate Students

Sarah Flores: Hi, I am in my first year of pursuing a PhD in Social Psychology. I am very excited to be at TAMU and begin life as a graduate student. My main research focus is on judgment and decision making but I am also interested in identity formation as well as unconscious bias. I am looking forward to the new research that will be done in the lab.

Shane Bench: I am a second year graduate student, originally from Salt Lake City, Utah. My research interests include emotion and emotion regulation, judgment and decision making, and altruism.

Research Assistants

Amisha Atchison: I’m graduating TAMU in 2009. I graduated from Duncanville High School in 2006 with 27 transferable college credit honors. I am a psychology major, history minor, and getting secondary teacher certification. I plan on becoming a child psychologist and possibly a church counselor. I would really love to attend SMU, but will also look at other graduate schools.

Jessica Black: Howdy! My name is Jessica Black and I’m a senior Psychology major from Springfield, Virginia. I am excited about graduating in May and hopefully will be attending graduate school for Mental Health Counseling next fall.

Christina Walker: I am a senior psychology major and music minor. After graduation I hope to pursue a Master degree in either education, psychology, or counseling. My ultimate goal is to teach first then later become an elementary school counselor.

Karmen Hernandez: I am a psychology major and plan on graduating in 2012. I am originally from San Antonio, Texas. I am currently deciding if I want to go into a route based on genetics and psychology or something to do with relationships and therapy.

Sara Decker: I am a junior psychology major transferring this semester from TCU.  I have an interest in both social and clinical psychology.  I also plan on furthering in the clinical field and getting my PsyD after I graduate from A&M.

Heather Tolleson: I’m a junior at TAMU and plan on graduating in May of 2011. I graduated from Deer Park High School in 2007. I’m majoring in psychology with a sociology minor and plan on heading back to Houston for graduate school after finishing here. I love learning about people and their behavior and I hope to continue doing that for a long time.

Kimberly Lawson: She is a member of the class of 2011. She is a Psychology major with plans to go to graduate school after she graduates this December.

Morgan Adamson: I’m a junior working towards a degree in Psychology. I was born and raised in Bryan/College Station. I have a 3-year-old daughter named Rylie. I’m hoping to continue to grad school to get a doctorate in Social Psychology and then most likely join the navy as a Psychologist.

Kristen Scharr: I am a senior at Texas A&M University from Katy, TX. I’m majoring in psychology with a business minor. I plan on graduating in May of 2010 and after graduation I plan on starting a career in the field of human resources and will also consider going to graduate school to study I/O psychology.

Olga Martinez: Hello! I am a junior from Temple, Texas. I am a psychology major with a business minor. I plan on graduating in May 2011. Afterwards I am hoping to go to graduate school to do something in the field dealing with family and marriage counseling. I am very excited to be in the lab!

Marta Saenz: I am a junior psychology major from Austin, Tx, graduating in the spring of 2011. After graduation, I plan on going to grad school in Chicago to earn my Ph.D and become a clinical psychologist.
